The purpose of this research is to observe cultural meanings connoted in recognition about operating athletic department of directing teacher who belongs to physical education high school which is special-purpose high school. As a result of research, I could find the change in perception of operating recognition of study participants. The result as analysis of interview shows that the participants become to have recognizing the value of athletic operations, building their belief and will toward the athletic operation, self-realization through the athletic operation, and reflecting the athletic operation that they had had. These can be explained as the evolution of recognition in terms of temporal concept and value-oriented aspects. These are recognition of the evolutionary stages of study participants about athletic operation. Step1 is the stage that they start to recognize the value of athletic operation before and after getting posted as a PE teacher. Step2 is the stage that they build the belief about athletic operation while working as a PE teacher. Step 3 is to implement their will for athletic operation. Step 4 is to reflect their operating style about athletic department. And finally step 5 is self-realization through the athletic operation. All study participants have commonly undergone 1, 2, 3 steps, and they recognize now they are in between step 4 and 5. Before they became athletic department director, they when being PE teachers were interested in the operation for athletic department, and after becoming athletic department director, they have recognized these stages while they experienced and felt many things, operating department by themselves.
