This article is to study the role of power structure in the choice of the Korea electorate. The Korea have had many electional process, and there have been many studies performed on the factors of selection. Generally, the study on the choice of the electorate is divided into three: rational choice, political party identification, and sociological model. Though each perspective have been acknowledged to have high relevance in Korea election, they could not explain well the cause and effect. This article employs the structure of power in Korea as an important concept, which has been neglected frequently in the previous study. The structure of president power in Korea have operated as a basis of the decision in the support for special political party or a candidate. It have functioned as a basis of support, which was more import than policy or ideology of political party.
