Pressurization training is designed to perform short term training using exclusive belt applying pressure on upper part of legs to reduce blood flow to limbs. Pressurization walk training with blood flow occlusion leads to muscle hypertrophy, body composition, and cardiovascular response. However, cardiovascular response to pressurization walk training is unknown. Thus, we investigated the effects of pressurization walk training on body composition (FM, LBM, %Bodyfat, BMI), and cardiovascular response (HR, SV, CO, TVC), in elite soccer players. They were participated in walk training with (pressurization walk training: PTG; n = 8) and without (control group: CG; n = 5) blood flow occlusion. Five sets of 3-min walk (5.5 ㎞/h at 5% grade) and 1-min rest between walks were performed twice a day, 5 days/week for 3-week. Two-way ANOVA with repeated measures were utilized (p<.05). The result showed that LBM was significantly increased in PTG and cross sectional areas of quadriceps on both right and left leg thigh circumference were increased. There were no significant differences in FM, %bodyfat, and BMI. In cardiovascular response, HR, CO, and TVC were significantly increased in both groups with moderate workloads, and CO, TVC were significantly higher in PTG. There was no difference in SV in both groups. It is concluded that short-term pressurization walking training could improve cardiovascular function at low and moderate intensity workloads such as aerobic exercise.
