With the advent of Web 2.0 and digital convergence, user created content(UCC) have been one of the main Internet success stories in recent years. UCC have provided users with more freedom to create their own unique user experience. The focus of this paper is to explore UCC's functions and values as a broadcasting content in order to understand its recent success and popularity. By conducting survey questionnaires with 108 broadcasters including TV producers and script-writers, the study found that UCC may serve such functions of entertainment, information, social participation/exploring issues. It also suggested that broadcasters perceive that UCC may serve entertainment and information functions and these perceptions affect the success of UCC as a broadcasting content. However, the study also found that UCC may have dysfunctions such as privacy and copyright issues. Besides the participant perceive that UCC has a low quality in technological and contents issues. Based on these findings implications and suggestions for future studies are discussed.
