This paper will examine whether international sustainable development law, a field that promotes the collaboration and integration of multiple disciplines, can serve as an effective guide for improving development in sub-Saharan Africa. Specifically, the paper will assess the International Law Association’s 2002 New Delhi Declaration as a framework for achieving sustainable development in the region. By recognizing the interconnection between ecological, economic, political and social systems, the Declaration’s principles may facilitate and encourage governments, policymakers, civil society, courts, and others to formulate a multi-dimensional and comprehensive development policy for the region, despite its limitations for solving corruption and other problems that have hindered development.
