As in the other fields of metaphysics, the foundationalist view of nature needs to be contested by deconstructive discourses. Deep Ecology, one of our own contemporary eco-centrism takes Self-realization and bioregional egalitarianism as its logical fulcrums. As we see in the historical view of American nature which is examined by Hans Huth, William Cronon and Roderick Nash, nature has been named and defined to meet the individual and/or collective desire or interests of naming or defining subjects. Deep Ecology needs to articulate marginalized voices in terms of gender, race and class because any practically efficient environmentalism cannot be generated without criticizing the interconnected logic of all discriminations. Above all, Deep Ecology must accept a logical limitation lurking in the ‘intrinsic value’ of nature, thus, its coercive view of nature. When Deep Ecology include those challenging voices within its logical program, it could possibly better-promote our eco-friendly theory and its implementation.
