The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of the weight-control stress of adolescent high school dance majors on their dietary attitude and physical, mental health status in an effort to determine the correlation of the factors. The subjects in this study were 300 students who majored in dance in art high schools in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province and were at the age of 18 and up. The collected data were analyzed with a SPSS/WIN 12.0 program and t-test and one-way ANOVA. The findings of the study were as follows: in regard to the correlation of weight-control stress, dietary attitude and health state, heavier weight-control stress led to a worse dietary attitude(p<.01), weight-control stress and health state as well, which implied that heavier weight-control stress was followed by a worse health status (p<01). And a positive correlation was found between dietary attitude and health state, which denoted that a better dietary attitude led to a better health state. The above-mentioned findings of the study illustrated that the weight-control stress of the teenaged high school dance majors exerted a significant influence on their dietary attitude and physical, mental health.
