I study the classifiers of the Korean translations of Chinese medical books of Chosun Dynasty. I focus on the classifiers of the list, morphology, meaning, and concurrent noun, and translations in Korean. There are two kinds of Korean classifiers in the books; the verb originated and the noun originated. The first includes ‘머곰, 져봄, 줌, 소솜’. The second includes ‘무적, 덩이, 알, 단, 적, 번, 낯, 보?, 사발, 잔, ?, ?, 줄기, ?, ?’. ‘머곰, 져봄, 줌, 소솜’. Most of the verb originated Korean classifiers came from hand-motion verbs. This fact agrees with related typological tendency observed across world languages. Some of noun origin classifiers were used both for counting countable nouns and for uncountable ones. Each underwent various historical change. One of most common classifier ‘낯’ disappeared historically. ‘적’ was replaced by ‘번’ along its historical path. ‘보?, 사발, 잔’ were originated from container noun. ‘?, ?’ of which meaning were similar to ‘fold’ underwent different changes.
