Recently, Busan economy is faced with the overall recession crisis such as deindustrialization, unemployment rising, ell aging society, etc. In. this circumstances, it is very important to foster a regional strategic industry and we should consider searching and choosing new growth power industry that can lead Busan economy in future.
The purpose of this research is to pick the next generation growth engines for Busan through an objectified method and present a fosterage direction of strategic industry to lead the regional economy. The next generation growth engines of Busan is chosen through both quantitative method (professional human power, the number of patent application, research institute, location quotient analysis(LQ)) and qualitative method (future growth potentiality, possiblity of regional economy, competitive power, policy coincidence). Especially, we set quantitative analysis standard and qualitative analysis standard with professional survey to consider future growth potentiality, a feature of the growth power industry, and weight is used to calculate the result of objective analysis.
The following is the final result for the next generation growth engines of Busan. As a result of quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis, we have chosen ocean development, advanced medical care, intelligent robot, new regenerated energy, and aerospace components industry for the next generation growth engines of Busan. This includes possibility to develop growth potentiality for the region in the future as well as objective innovation capacity that the region carries.
The result of this research will be contributed to settle a policy fostering the growth power industry for the local community development. we expect that this research will arrange the framework of various policies fostering regional strategic industry.
