The increase of diffusion rate of broadband internet and the improvement of network quality have brought the rapid change to the distribution and charging system of digital contents, but also caused the increase of the infringement of copyright. Thousands of illegal contents of infringed copyright are being registered in me sharing sites like P2P site every day. That causes damage to not only copyrighters but also the distributive order of healthy digital contents. Among them, in the case of multimedia contents, the damage is increasing everyday because it is hard to set up security equipment. To reduce these damages, the method of encrypting the part or entire multimedia contents using encryption algorithm was implemented in this paper. If the encryption is applied to the part or whole considering the feature of contents, encrypted contents appropriate to each purpose can be got. In this works, we used high speed algorithms for high performance. It is confirmed that it took 31 seconds when the part of 300-frame contents was encrypted applying high speed algorithm, and about 40 seconds when the whole was encrypted. The method suggested in this paper can be used for user authentication in a charge VOD service or IPTV, charged cable TV and so on whose services have been started lately, and copyright protection.
