EVM(Embedded Virtual Machines) is a stack-based virtual machine which is independently run in the H/W and ported in mobile devices, set-top boxes, and digital TVs. As an intermediate language of EVM, SIL(Standard Intermediate Language) has an operation code set for an object-oriented language and a procedural language. In the past, a dependent code was translated in a platform in order to run C programs. To cope with this problem, and based on EVM, we have developed the ANSI C compiler--which generates SIL code-van independent stack-based intermediate code in a platform, instead of an object code.
For the analysis of the SIL code generated by the ANSI C compiler, this study designed and implemented a SIL-to-C decompiler system which translates SIL code into ANSI C program(a three-address code type). This kind of process suggests a verification method through which it can be checked whether or not SIL code is properly generated by ANSI C compiler. And this process does apply to C++ compiler. Further, in the case in which the S/W misoperates or where the version is not compatible with the previous releases, this system makes it easier to adjust the architecture of the software and to enhance the performance.
