A There is an outstanding tendency to return to nature-friendly environment from artificial environment as various parts of our lives are developed in 21 th century. This trend in our society shows the approach to "space assimilated with nature". As people are interested in health with the overall issue of well being in these days, they make a trial of connecting interior finishing materials of space to stay long with the elements of our health. The uses of Korean traditional paper, lacquer panel, soil panel, charcoal panel as a interior finishing material are steadily increased. Especially art wall in the space of apartment are being used as a various finishing material.
In this paper, therefore, we try to harmonize' practicality with modeling, and traditional style with contemporary style to apply to modern life and to develop originality fitted with modern sense. We reconstructed traditional patterns into a modern style and developed art wall vanished with lacquer. It provided us with the base of popularization for the usage of modern design using lacquer ware in various space.
