Recently, the social and political concern has been raised for Hanok-Renaissance. In this process the NEO-Hanok-Maeul was promoted and planned by public institution and local government, but it is something not adequate for materializing the characters and spatial structure of traditional Hanok Maeul. So, the purpose of this study is to elicit the design guidelines which can be applied planning NEO-Hanok-Maeul reflection the language of traditional Hanok Maeul. For this purpose, the comparable design guidelines and several Hanok Maeul was analyzed.
As the result of this study, the structure of NEO-Hanok Maeul was composed of 5 fields; 1) spatial structure and land use system, 2) the road and alley way system, 3) environmental system, 4) public spaces, 5) landscape and public design. And 20 detail guidelines was elicited according to that 5 fields. In this study the general principles was put forward but applying this guidelines to real case, the details such as feasibilities, needs, and costs should be proceeded to concrete test bed.
