The purpose of this study is to develop an ergonomic work system for reducing the work load of the farmers who are engaged in the sorting and packing work of the facility rose and improving their work productivity. For the analysis of the study, subjects who are engaged in the production process of the facility rose were observed during their sorting and packing work according to the quality level of the rose. Their work posture and the work character were analyzed before and after the development of the work system. For the analysis of the work posture, the work process was recorded by a digital camcorder, and the recorded video was analyzed by means of OWAS(Ovako Working Posture analysis System) and REBA(Rapid Entire Body Assessment). In addition, the analysis of the work character identified the difficulties in the work as well as demands and problems for the development of the system. As a result of the work posture analysis using OWAS, the upper limbs and the back posture were improved by 6.7% and 29.9% respectively, after the improvement of the work system. REBA analysis also showed the improvement in the work posture after the improvement of the work system. Using the analysis of the work character, the work system which had been developed was improved in terms of worker's comfort, productivity, and economical efficiency.
