This research focused on the status of Outdoor space in high density village. In this research, the Zhuzifang village, Fuzhou was chosen as the representative district of china where is changed the spatial character and increased the population by the changing of society and urban structure. To find out the role of the Outdoor, occurring in the change of traditional house, I analysis the extended housing, the pattern of changed outdoor space and furnitures placed in the outdoor space.
I find the characteristic 3 points as follows; 1)The process of changing in traditional house has 3 steps. First, using the existing housing. Second, extend the housing using brick in the exterior. Third, place the furniture in the exterior. 2) The modification exterior has the character of pubic and private at the same time due to the role of connect the dispersing extended housings. 3)The furniture placed at public exterior can be set and control the private territory.
The management of outdoor space by using furniture can be considered as the architectural method to solve the problems cause by high density environment and make the community in the multi family housing.
