When the MIS articles published in S. Korea are compared to the articles in the same field published in the United States, the lack of diversity in the MIS research in S. Korea seems evident. This trend of not having that much diversity in management information systems research tends to be similar in China. Thus, this study would like to analyze attributes of MIS research and compare the differences in terms of diversity in the research published in three different countries, S. Korea, the United States, and China based on the diversity of MIS research found in the United States. The paper, then, would like to find out details of the differences to suggest recommendations to two countries, S. Korea and China. The diversity comparison using x² test in the referred discipline, analysis unit, research topics, and research methods shows that all but research topics (x²=37.851) have strong significant differences. Among them, research methods show the largest difference (x²=715.351) among others following analysis unit (x²=304.484), and referred discipline (x²=185.787). In summary, MIS studies in S. Korea and China are strongly recommended to diversify their research methods, research analysis units, and referred disciplines to improve their quality of research and provide better information to the field of academia and industry.
