The death of modern literature has been asserted by Karatani Gojin, a Japanese literary critics. Some People agree that modern literature have died because literature is irrelevant to politics any more.
However we can think of this problem like this; Even if the assertion is true, the cause could be on the one side of literature or the other side of politics. It means that the idea of modern politics is changed as much as modern literature is changed. The idea of politics has been thought of power relation in the microscopic point of view. In this point of view, literature has been concerned with politics.
We maintain that the political way of thinking how to liberate human being’s life is not different from the literary way of working how to liberate human being’s life. The problem is the way. Which ‘way’ is proper to both of Literature and politics?
We examined and criticised the late discourses about ‘literature and politics’. Nevertheless we don’t have the proper solution of the way of pursuing political literature or literary politics. This paper has a important meaning that we considered the literary imagination for politics recently, though.
