This dissertation consists of series of economic prosperity in postwar Japan and the criticism on Japan by Western countries, the worst economic depression and the Japanese economy of today, the basic for the Japanese economy, the labor market, the system of employment, and the labormanagement relations in postwar Japan, various countermeasures to conquer economic depression for long-term in Japan of today.
The Japanese islands lies in an important position in strategic triangular zone Northern Asia and an intermediate power zone between Asian bloc, Euro bloc and America.
Japan has devoted into "The Great Eastern Asia's Mutual Prosperity" based on theoretical backgrounds of English "Block Economy" and German "Widespread Economy(Grossaum Wirtschaft)", and then it transformed into "The Southern-Province Policy".
It has respect to Geopolitics, if South-East Asia is one of the focuses of a world struggle, the Far-East is an important position in Asia, and if Okinawa is also the keystone in the Pacific, Japan is the stronghold of the Far-East and the Korean peninsula is the foothold of the Continent. It may be sure that we can't expect to settle completely with all political and economic problems. This is the very dilemma in contemporary. Perhaps, it may base on what Johann W. von Goethe said, "All theories are grey". Korean peninsula and japan islands has been conducted as a "dangerous trigger" for a few thousand years in Asian history.
To be brief, the japanese economy of today are : The bank of japan, for example, wants to prevent provincial banks holding government bonds from going broke when the value of those bonds nose-dives due to rising interest rates.
Corporate leaders, meanwhile, support it because deflation gives them a free hand in laying off workers and cutting wages. Warning of the dangers involved, the author demonstrates why each of these "conspirator groups hopes to keep the deflationary trend alive for the time being(森永卓郞『日本?濟「沈默」の共謀者』講談社).
A Ministry of Finance economist, the author(原田 泰『人口減少の?濟學』 - 少子高齡化がニッポンを救う!, PHP. b. 1950) claims that these phenomena present not a crisis but a prime opportunity for reving Japan. He explains with abundant diagrams and charts the kind of measures that can be taken to realize a prosperous and vigorous society, even with a low birthrate and an aging population, Social institutions premised on ever-increasing population will have to be revamped. Arguing that economic growth is still possible with a shrinking labor force as long as productivity increases, the author advocates creating work environments more open to women and the elderly, revising the pension system, fleshing out the system of caregiving for the elderly, and increasing the efficiency of medical care.
The author(Mr, Harada) urges people to change their thinking, emphasizing that declining population need not mean a society of shadow and gloom.
Adopting such reforms, he declares, would create a society capable of looking after each and every one of its members.
