Countries all around the world have been actively investing on building up global e-trade infrastructure for international transactions such as goods and services and money. Such investments have facilitated business firms to make greater use of e-trade and to improve their management performance. The objective of this paper is to review the mechanics of howe-trade practices can work on firm performances. It is well known that the introduction of e-trade systems can decrease transaction costs at macro level and thus in many times the data set is collected based on individual persons. But this paper attempts to determine whether trade transaction costs make influences on the exporting firms performance at firm-level. A theoretical framework is suggested for determining the usage and performance of global e-trade and empirical analysis has been made for Korea exporting firms. This paper concludes that the e-trade has yet to overcome the barriers resulting from transaction cost and thus it is very important to increase both organizational information and global capability. In this regard, appropriate actions like education and training programs should be implemented in order to get the Korea e-trade matured.
