Green Belts are in the process of grand changes. In the seven medium-sized local cities, whole the GB are being removed. In the large seven cities, some areas are partly removed depending on environmental evaluation. The GB of large settlements are also being removed to improve the backward living conditions of local inhabitants.
This paper aims to propose development and management alternatives for ‘the adjusted area’-the partly removed GB in large cities. Firstly, the definition and types of adjusted area, the process of removal of GB are introduced. Secondly, some issues on the adjusted area, concerning for highdensity and unplanned development are proposed. And some policy alternatives are introduced on the improvement of settlements, and the new planning standard and techniques.
