Daehan-yejeon is the national ritual book of the last Dynasty of Joseon cailled Great Han Empire. This book was compiled over 1 year urgently under the financially unfavorable condition. For this reason, it reveals considerable problems such as unconformity of contents with real utilization and contradiction of the system prescribed in letters with annexed pictures to this book. Nonetheless, it holds a significant meaning in that it is the last ritual book of the traditional Korean dynasty, and it defines the transition from feudal kingdom to emperor nation. In this sense, the purpose of this paper is to elucidate the norms and the characteristics of volume 4 ‘Uniform Illustration for sacrificial rites’ and volume 5, ‘Uniform Illustration for Official Clothing’ in Daehan-yejeon. Accordingly, This research investigates the influence of the costume system of Ming Dynasty on the costume system of Daehan-yejeon by exploring the documents of the Ming Dynasty; Daemyung-huijeon (Daming-huidian), Daemyung-jibrye(Daming-jili), and Samjaedohui(Sancaituhui) with the costume system of the Joseon Dynasty. Subsequently, it examined the costume system of those days by comparing the costume system of Daehan-yejeon with the real costume system of the late Joseon Dynasty. The findings are as follows: It was confirmed that Daehanyejeon accepted Daemyung-huijeon only prescribed in letters in reality, and accepted Daemyung-huijeon and Samjaedohui simultaneously in the annexed pictures to the book, even though Daehan-yejeon was claimed to stand for the costume system of Daemyung-huijeon. It shows that the system was complied with Daemyung-huijeon, but pictures accepted Daemyung-huijeon and Samjaedohui at the same time. Therefore, it appears that the pictures that accepted Samjaedohui did not correspond to the costume system. In addition, it was revealed that some of official robes reflected the costume that was actually used from the Late Joseon Dynasty instead of costume system of the Ming Dynasty.
