Recently the period of limitless competition arrives in construction in Korea due to larger, up-to-date, higher facilities than earlier time. Construction industry in Korea, undergoes a sudden change like this, giving attention to value engineering in order to secure competitiveness. However, considering assessment of function method in order to convert qualitative things into quantitative thing there are various methods. Therefore it leads to problem of reducing confidence of result and long assessment time. So in reality assessment function is often omitted. At the same time considering idea making, due to not classifying ideas, grouping or making database is very difficult in reality.
Therefore in this study, to apply efficient design VE technic, like to draw the problems for function evaluation phase and idea creation phase of design VE, through a survey of expert, and analyzing existing researches and cases. Based on this result, this study suggests the improvement of function evaluation and idea creation for efficient design VE technic application through simplifying the function evaluation process and method of function analysis phase, and developing an idea creation method with 'scope of question' of idea creation phase. Through this simplification of assessment of function and classification of idea making areas can be achieved. Through this it will be practiced in the field easier than past and lead to effective assessment of function and idea making.
