Festival is one of the most attractive tourism resources like cultural vestiges, natural attractions. Many tourist participate this special events to get enjoyment and interests.
Governments have actively promoted their establishment and supporters. They consider festival as potential tools for community developments, attracting crowds, creating new forms of entertainments, achieving educational objectives, preserving culture, celebrating ethnic diversity and raising money.
Located in the heart of peninsula, Chungju, the birth place of "Jungwon Culture" is leaping forward as the leading city of culture and tourism on century of culture.
Especially, Chungju by organizing the World Martial Arts Union firstly in the world, laid solid track for Chungju to advance to the center of global martial arts. The event, whose motto is "Encounter of the 5000 year ethnosoul with the World Martial Art", will establish the city as the center of world martial arts with the city's unique martial arts "Taekgyeon", which is registered as Korean National intangible Cultural Asset#76.
So this study aim to research of the program estimation of festivals which are held by Chungju city recently.
The result of this study shows that the residents are able to consume more time to participate in festivals, and it is necessary to include programs such as socializing and family orientation as the content of the event. In addition, it shows that advertisement brochures should be produced more prudently and programs that satisfy the Experiential Motive and pleasure-Oriented motive must be developed.
