The purpose of this study was to investigate the X-factor and X-factor stretch by figuring of the upper body and lower body rotation angle of the each players divided in the age of under 20s, 40s, and over 60s.
1) The result of the study showed that rotation angle of the hip joint was greater in the nonexperts(60.679) than the novice golfers(60.866) and the experts got the greatest result in the hip rotation among the groups. The result according to the age showed that the 60s got the top place among those three groups such as 60s(60.594), 40s(58.724), and 20s(55.580). The novice group and the older than the other made the X-factor be decreased because of the rotation angle of the hip joint.
2) The result of the study showed that rotation angle of the shoulder joint was greater in the experts(103.655) and the nonexperts(107.852) than the novice golfers(95.155). The result according to the age showed that the 20s got the top place among those three groups such as 20s(103.655), 40s(103.235), 60s(98.435).
3) The degree of X-factor was much greater in the expert(47.805) and the nonexpert(48.257) golfers than the novice(35.274) group. The result according to the age showed that the 20s(47.805) and the 40s(44.511) got higher scores than 60s(67.841). The X-factor presented lower degrees when the player is higer level and older than the other.
4) The degree of X-factor stretch was much greater in the expert(4.232) and the nonexpert(1.340) golfers than the novice(0.699) group. The result according to the age showed that the 20s(4.232) and the 40s(2.269) got higher scores than 60s(-0.720).
We can see by the result of this study that the novice group could not make the normal downswing by leading of the lower body.
