This study was to analyze rural village development support based on types of rural resources which is focused on rural tourism resources in Kangwon province. From the literature review, rural resource and general types of resource were introduced and residents’ attitude and support for rural tourism development was discussed. In order to collect the data, the survey q uestionnaires were distributed into leaders, directors, and officials related to rural development in 135 rural villages. A total of 126 useful samples were collected from 76 different rural villages and analyzed in SPSS. The results of data analysis showed that six underlying dimensions of rural resources were determined from factor analysis and also these dimensions affect respondents’ rural development support. Then, cluster analysis was conducted with six underlying factors and provided three different cluster solutions. Finally, it was found out that there were significant difference among three clusters based on their support of rural village development. Theoretical and practical implications were discussed.
