This study aims for examining how does lady attendants' costume is expressed in historical dramas and offer costumes that passed correct historical investigation and right information to the viewer by looking at data.
It is presumed that Korean lady attendants began to appear at Three Kingdom Period and class was divided into upper court lady, servants and slaves.
Lady attendants had rank and their works are different in where they work at.
Upper court lady and servants wore jade green jeogori as an ordinary dress.
Slaves such as musuri and bija wore dark blue cotton jeogori and skirt.
For ceremonial occasion, upper court lady wore haleui, jangsam, wonsam.
Based on MBC's Daejanggum and Isan, SBS's King and I and KBS's Empress Myungsung and King Sejong, we've looked at characteristic in different time period of Joseon Dynasty.
In King Sejong and Empress Myungsung, its costume were similar to that period's costume, but Daejanggum, Isan and King and I had difference at jeogori's length and collars' shape.
By this study it is expected that for the publics this would be a chance to widen the understanding of traditional costume and more accurate informations are transmitted.
