The purpose of this thesis analyzes the origin of Moon-gu Lee's literature, focusing on My body was kept too long standing or walking (『내 몸은 너무 오래 서 있거나 걸어왔다』). Basically Moon-gu Lee's writing is based on the real experience and the attitude of the faithful observation. This novel is well mirrored the autobiographic element and the exclusively neocapitalism in Korea.
His novel originates in the dream of human society and the defense of nature. This novel applies to the identification of the farming population in his old age. The narrator of old age feels sorrow for his life which has lived in doing self-examination for lifetime. So the tone of novel is sad and melancholy. The tree is the symbol of the weak including framer and nature.
Moon-gu Lee presents not only the adaptation between nature and human but also the genuineness of the constant value through the manlike farmer and the tree having the meaning of the existence. Futhermore, he reflations on the other and self including the traditional collective and modern society.
