The purpose of this study was its focus on the approach and development of designs that consider mutual relationship with the nature and the human-centered society, which raises the importance environment under insufficiency of the waterfront of Korea after 1970 with the rapid urbanization and industrialization.
To develop waterfront, objective and universal analysis of the frame is required at this point where information is limited. And with the analyzed frame, importance of nature and recognition will be emphasized where the hydrophile waterfront area can be introduced.
Analyzing each countries instances and categorizing the different hydrophile properties give opportunity to present universal waterfront areas as well as directions to present to new areas.
Natural and nature-friendly waterfront areas that beutifies the city by the many different hydrophile areas give great meaning.
