This treatise is to clarify the cognitional method for reality appeared in a female’s sexuality of Oh, Jang Hwan’s poetry. A question of the female’s sexuality is very important fields in Oh, Jang Hwan’s poetry. The female’s sexuality appeared as a complex image and symbol in Oh, Jang Hwan’s poetry. A form of the female’s sexuality is connected with Oh, Jang Hwan’s cognitional method for reality.
The female’s sexuality is the motive of the heart which appeared on Oh, Jang Hwan’s general poetry without regard to a time. Therefore, the female’s sexuality in his poetry which we are to find out will be linked to clarifying of his cognitional method for reality and a sense of poetry. Furthermore, this study will provide a method to identify his position called by poet of ‘Saengmyeongpa(Life Shool)’
This treatise is to divide his female-sexualities into three parts in order to understand a dynamic nature in his poetry. They are as in the following, that is, First, female’s sexualities of classic, Second, female’s sexualities of prostitution, Third, female’s sexualities of motherhood. He cognized the collapse of the Confucian world through searching for female’s sexualities of classic and showed disillusion about a modernity of depravation through searching against female’s sexualities of prostitution and tried to overcome nihility through searching for female’s sexualities of motherhood.
The female’s sexualities which appeared on his poetry is a major factor which leaded to the world of his poetry dynamically. This treatise has given attention to female’s sexualities as medium of development in his poetry. And also, this treatise has clarified a signification of his literary history who showed an insight with personality against a modern space ultimately.
