The atmospheric pressure gradient between Ulleung and Incheon is analyzed. The overall trends of SLP difference between the two stations can be subdivided into two periods: before and after the early of 1980s. In the former period, the trend is almost trivial, whilst a rapid upward trend (1.5 h㎩/20 yr) is found in the later period indicating a possible climate regime since 1980s. The change of the SLP difference implies that the meridional wind has been anomalously southerly for the last two decades. For more detailed analysis, the relationship between the winter monsoon and surface air temperature has been studied.
