The general photochemical modelling was performed for considering regional and seasonal representations for a typical summer day in the Osaka Bay and surrounding areas, Japan. Harima, Hanshin, and Osaka areas in the simulation area were selected by cluster analysis of observed ozone (O₃) concentrations. Also, the typical summer days for the conditions of daily precipitation = 0.0 ㎜/day, daily maximum temperature ?35℃, daily maximum radiation ? 3.0 MJ/(㎡□h), daily mean "Wind speed ? 4.0 ㎧, and weak general wind were selected from observed data. The simulation results such as wind flow and photochemical O₃ of this study showed higher accuracy of general photochemical modelling than previous researches for some regional points or some specific days in the simulation area. Specially, the predicted concentrations and diurnal variations of photochemical O₃ from the air quality simulation agreed reasonably well with the observed values. In addition, the statistical evaluation represented the high correlation between predicted and observed O₃ concentrations. The results suggested that photochemical modelling considering regional and seasonal representations is useful for investigating the general photochemical characteristics in objected regions and seasons.
