4주령의 돼지에서 여러 용량의 방사선 조사를 하고 경시적으로 혈액 수치의 변화, helper T-cell 및 cytotoxic T-cell에 대한 변화를 관찰 하였다. 6 Gy 이상을 조사한 돼지에 3일이후 백혈구와 혈소판의 수의 감소되어 회복 되지 않았으며, 식욕 부진, 설사 등의 부작용을 보이며, 조사 후 10일부터 15일 사이에 모두 폐사 하였다. 4 Gy 전신 단일 조사한 돼지에서는 조사 후 임상적인 부작용을 보이지 않았으며, 9일 이후 백혈구, 혈소판이 증가하여 회복되는 경향을 보였다. 본 연구의 결과는 돼지를 사용한 방사선 생물학적 실험에서 혈액변화 및 면역억압 관찰에 대한 기초 자료로 활용 될 수 있을것이다.
