This thesis starts from the study of phenomenology which is on the center of the transition of architectural ideas in contemporary age. The tendency of visual interpretation of architecture, as just a sign or forming, had been continued for a long time even though architecture is completed with primary spatial senses and whole bodily perception of experiences. After 1980's, however, the sensible or psychological aspect of architecture has been recognized. And the original purpose of architecture, as a subject of human being, has been paid attention. Thus, the intent of this thesis is to study on general ideas of phenomenology, to scrutinize the theory of phenomenological architecture, and to explore the possibility of developing the design process of architecture based on a theory and analysis of practical examples of phenomenological architecture.
