This research was conducted to determine the effect of micronutrient fertilizations as influenced by NH₄?/NO₃? ratios in fertilizer solution on growth and nutrient uptake of French marigold ‘Orange Boy’ in plug culture. To achieve this, peatmoss+vermiculite (1:1, v/v) medium was fertilized during formulation with a granular micronutrient fertilizer containing 6 micronutrients at a rate of 0.3 g·L-1 or sprayed with a solution containing 3.1 ㎎ Na₂B₄O?, 3.1 ㎎ Fe-EDTA, 1.5 ㎎ Mn-EDTA, 0.9 ㎎ Zn-EDTA, 0.6 ㎎ Cu-EDTA, and 0.15 ㎎ Na₂MoO₄·2H₂O on a liter of medium. The five NH₄?/NO₃? ratios in the fertilizer solution were 0/100, 25/75, 50/50, 75/25, and 100/0. The treatment of 0:100 (NH₄?/NO₃?) produced the highest fresh and dry weight among treatments of liquid micronutrient fertilizers (LMF), but 25:75 treatment produced the highest fresh and dry weight among treatments of granular micronutrient fertilizers (GMF). Elevated NH₄? ratios in the fertilizer solution in both of LMF and GMF decreased soil solution pHs at 35 days after sowing. The elevation of NH₄? ratio in the fertilizer solution resulted in the increase of tissue P and decrease of K contents in both of LMF and GMF. The treatments of LMF had higher tissue Fe and lower Mn and Zn contents than those of GMF. The Cu contents did not show statistical differences among treatments of NH₄?/NO₃? ratios in both of LMF and GMF. The 50:50 and 25:75 (NH₄?/NO₃?) had the highest tissue boron contents among treatments of LMF and GMF, respectively.
