This study was enforced among Korean unmarried women in their twenties as basic data for producing the body for ready-made suit designs. A 3-dimensional measurement device was used as the study method. A horizontal section shape was collected among scanned information and considered as a diagram. The preparation of mean figure and form characteristics were grasped based on theoretical principles.
The following are results of this study.
1. 3-dimensional figures of horizontal section shape in 10 parts at the time of measurement was understood as scan results of 3D human body measurement.
2. The mean figure was obtained based on theoretical principles for human body information required to design the body for ready-made suits. This is considered as reconfirmation of the 3-dimensional information of the human body and also a profitable result as basic data for producing ready-made suits in the future.
3. Among clothing production and body designs, 3-dimensional figure data of the neck area was acquired, being useful in providing detailed information for color designs and the shoulder area. That is, the body figure was understood through horizontal section shape results taken at the time of measurement and the mean figure of each horizontal section shape, width, thickness, and height.
4. 3-dimensional figure data of the girth of one's chest across the breast and beneath the breast are considered to be basic data for expressing cubic effects on the change of Korean jacket length in designing Korean traditional clothing (hanbok), and has contributed in providing basic data for underwear designs.
5. Results of the two parts in waist sectional figure are useful in presenting standard sections of the upper and lower half of the body. The width showed more wider results as form characteristic of the horizontal section shape seen from behind. This is expected to be directly used as reference data in setting waist dart amounts and the one-piece dress dart.
6. 3-dimensional figures of the abdomen and hips circumference realized embodiment of basic data of lower half body research.
A longitudinal study on the expanded part of each subject and time elapse is planned to be enforced based on theoretical backgrounds from now on.
