This research was conducted to determine the amount of micronutrients released from granular glass frits in root media such as peatmoss + vermiculite (PV, 1:1, v/v), peatmoss + composted sawdust (PS, 1:1), peatmoss + composted rice hull (PR, 1:1), and peatmoss + composted pine bark (PB, 1:1). The amount of Fe released from PB medium was 7,198 ㎎ㆍ㎏?¹, which was around 8 to 13 times higher than the 527, 1,024, and 276 ㎎ㆍ㎏?¹ of PV, PS, and PR media, respectively. Higher amounts of Mn were also released from PB medium than from the other media tested with statistical differences. The release of Zn in each week from week 3 through 10 did not show significant differences among the root media, but the total amount of Zn released from PB medium over 10 weeks was significantly greater than those of other media. Copper was released until week 6 from all media, but was not released after week 7 except from PB medium. Boron was released until week 3, but was not released after week 4 from all root media tested. Total amounts of B released from PV, PS, PR, and PB media over 10 weeks were 27, 41, 99, and 172 ㎎ㆍ㎏?¹, respectively.
