This thesis compared and analysed the anthropometry, physique index, % body fat and somatotype of female students attending K Art Senior High School in Daegu. The population of the analysis is 275 female students of 195 female students of dance major-Korean dance 65, Modem dance 65, and Ballet 65) and 80 non-major female students. The result of the analysis on the three dance major groups and non-major group is as follows.
1. Anthropometry : Height of modem dance group showed higher than any other groups in significant difference(p＜.01), the weight of the non-major group and modem dance major group showed higher than ballet group in significant difference(p＜.05).
Girth of the non-major group showed higher than dance major groups and ballet group showed lower than modem dance group and Korean dance.
Humerus and fermur showed no significant difference among the groups but ballet group showed a tendency of lower that other groups.
2. Skinfold Thickness: As a whole, non-major group showed significant higher value than dance major group, and ballet group showed lower value than Korean dance and modem dance group among dance major groups.
3. Physique Index : BMI of non-major group showed 20.&3 of highest value and Korean dance(20.15), modern dance(19.68), ballet(19.07) in order. and there was significant dlfference(p＜.01) among non-major group, modem dance group, and ballet group. The WHR of Korean dance was 82.54 of highest and ballet group showed 79.92 of lowest of statistical significant difference(p＜.05).
4. Rate of Physical Fatness: The order of Rate of Physical Fatness was non-major group 19.33% of highest, Korean dance group 18.78%, modem dance group 17.46%, and ballet roup 16.28% in order. Ballet group showed lower value than non-major group and Korean dance group in statistical significant difference(p＜.01).
5. Somatotype: Korean dance group and non-major group showed endromorphy, modem dance group and ballet group showed ectomorphy. The verification of 13 somatotype revealed that dance major group showed medium somatotype(M) which showed similar value in three factors, and the non-major group showed mesomorphic endromorphy(C).
