The purpose of this study is to find overall problems in the voluntary work of the old age and to seek for methods for the old age to take part in the recreation field. As a result, the following conclusion was made.
Firstly, there needs to be social atmosphere fostered by developing the consciousness of the old age regarding the voluntary work, and promoting affirmative image of the old age. Also, in order to make a successful advertisement, methods of active promotion using mass media, facilities, and communities are required.
Secondly, voluntary work program in the recreation field based on the interest or hobby for the old age needs to be developed. Also, this program has to have options by having different sections such as professional, simple professional, and general field so that the guidance and supporting activities can be chosen.
Thirdly, the work of developing the voluntary work program for the old age in the recreation field and connecting the old age voluntary workers and demanded places needs to be systematically carried out by operating an organization which is in charge of the voluntary work for the old age.
Fourthly, various social supporting system to inspire the morale of the old age voluntary workers and to encourage the motivation for continuous work needs to be prepared. That is, there needs to be economic compensation, various rewards, accident insurance, saving system for the old age and free and regular medical examination provided.
