The purpose of this study was to investigate the more effective instructional method for tennis stroke by identifing the effort on the improvement of tennis ground stroke function of the instructional sequence of learning such as the learning method of first forehand stroke and later backhand stroke, the learning method of first backhand stroke and the learning method of the simultaneous learning method of forehand and backhand stoke. In this study, the experiment was carried out for three-grade male students in middle school located in Seoul. They Were divided into the group of learning first forehand stroke and later backhand stroke(comparison group), the group of learning first backhand stroke and later forehand stroke(experimental group) and group of simultaneously learning forehand and backhand stroke/control group).
Their stroke function was measured by Hewitt's tennis test. Mean and standard deviation were computed through measurement after the 4-week experiment. The intergroup difference in the factors was analyzed by one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA) and the intragroup difference in the factors was analyzed by the paired t-test, The Tukey test was used as the post-test at the significance level of P <.05. As a result the following findings were obtained:
First, it was found that was no difference between three groups in the pre-test.
Second, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference between three groups as a result of measrement after the 4-week exercise(P<.05).
