The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics of the kinematic variables of round house kick in Taekwondo by 2 dimensional analysis. The round house kick is one of the most frequent and successful technique in kicking skills in Taekwondo. The subjects were four Taekwondo competitive players who have experienced more than 10 years in each weight classes of pin, feather, wellter, and heavy. Each subject have excuted the round house kick with 10 markers attached on shoulder, hip, knee, ankle, and phalanxial joints. From the data analysis, conclusions were as follows:
1. The corelation coefficient r of hip and knee joint velocity was not showed statistically significant (r=-0.63316, p=0.3668), to increase the velocity of knee joint, players tend to slow down the velocity of hip joint. This explains that to increase the correctness of the kick the players consequently increases the velocity of ankle joint (r=0.5158, p=0.4842)
2. There were no significant variables found to affect the velocity of hip joint. This implys that the displacement of hip joint was too small in relation to other displacement of variables
3. The only significant variable affect to the velocity of knee joint was the weight(F=45.54, P=0.023, r=0.9579). This explains the ground reaction force was the important factor to increase the velocity of joint.
