The purpose of this syudy was to investigate the cardiorespiratory and pulmonary function of male and femle archer in Pusan, Korea. The subjects employed for this study were 25 student archers(male:12, female:13). Treadmill(LE-5, Germany), gas analyzer(MetaMax, Germany) and pulmonary function test program((MIR co, Italy) were used for this study. Results revealed that 1) there was no significant difference in HR between male(72.08beats/min) and female(77.00±7.47beats/min) in static state, at imediately after maximal load test, in 5minutes, and in 10Minutes of recovery phase as.
2) There was no significant difference in VO₂ between male(0.19ℓ/min) and female(0.20ℓ/min) in static state, and significantly high in male at immediately after maximal load test, and in 5 minutes of recovery phase, but in 10 minutes of recovery phase, there was no significant difference between male and female.
3) No significant difference in VE was shown between male(6.67ℓ/min) and female(6.25ℓ/min) in static state, but significantly high in male at immediately after maximal load test, in 5 minutes of recovery phase, and in 10 minutes of recovery phase as well.
4) No significant difference in RQ was shown between male(0.67ℓ/min) and female(0.80ℓ/min) in static state, at immediately after maximal load test, in 5 minutes, and in 10 minutes of recovery phase.
5) No significant difference in VCO₂ was shown between male(0.20ℓ/min) and female(0.32ℓ/min) in static state, but VCO₂ of male(3.03ℓ/min) was significantly higher than femal(1.89) at immediately after maximal load test, in 5 minutes, and in 10 minutes of recovery phase as well.
6) No significant difference in BF was shown between male(15.92 f/min) and female(19.0 f/min) in static state, but BF of male(3.03ℓ/min) was significantly higher than femal(1.89) at immediately after maximal load test, in 5 minutes, and in 10 minutes of recovery phase as well.
7) No significant difference in VO₂㎖/㎏/min was shown between male(2.30㎖/㎏/min) and female(3.28㎖/㎏/min) in static state, but significantly high in male at immediately after maximal load test, no significant difference appeared in 5 minutes of recovery phase, and significantly hihger in male than that of female at 10 minutes of recovery phase.
8) FVC of male(5.10ℓ) was significantly higher than that of female(3.80ℓ), FEV1 of male(4.75ℓ)was significantly higher than that of female(3.20ℓ). PEF was also significantly higher in male(10.66>6.97ℓ)and FEF50 was the same(3.24 >2.55ℓ/sec).
9) VC was significantly higher in male(5.47ℓ) than female(4.33ℓ), and MVV was significantly higher in male(187.25ℓ/min)than female(88.44ℓ/min).
