The social situation of East-Asia from the 4th century to the early 5th century is the following: The marching of Koguryo (the north area of the ancient Korea) to Paekche (the south-west area of the ancient Korea) causes Shilla to rely on the national power of Koguryo and Paekche to join hands with Wae (the ancient Japan) and Kaya (the south area of the ancient Korea). It can be supported by the Korean old book Chonjinkyonsa written by the messenger of Shilla to Koguryo Widu that the extreme warring situation between Koguryo and Paekche caused by Paeche King Kunchogowang's attack on Pyongyang castle and King Kogukwonwang's death forced Shilla to find its surviving method by means of the foreign policy using the geographical distance.
The co-operating relationship between Shilla and Koguryo is also strengthened by the sending of the king family of Shilla Songshil to Koguryo as a hostage, while Paekche builds the tight relationship between Wae by sending the prince of Paekche Chonjitaeja to Wae as a hostage in the fifth year of Paekche King Ashin (397). The Korean old book Chonji supports the success of making the co-operating relationship between Paekche and Wae and the strong co-operating relationship between Koguryo and Shilla as follows: Shilla is frequently attacked by Wae and thus “Koguryo and Shilla join hands to intend to attack on Wae,” which makes Koguryo to march to the south of Korea more easily.
Shilla also tries to build the co-operating relationship with Wae by sending its king family Misahon to Wae as a hostage, which includes that Shilla tried to escape from the frequent attacks of Wae and too much strong pressure of Koguryo on Shilla, but fails.
It can be inferred that the reason the dates written in the King K wangtowhang' s tomb and in the Korean old book Samguksaki shows the mismatch results from the mistake in the arrangement of the original historical materials happening when compiling Samguksaki. The fact that Koguryo helped Shilla is omitted from the Korean old book Shilrabongi, which shows that Shilla tried to reduce the interruption by the foreign nation's power. Samkuksagi reports consistently that Shilra and Wae are the extreme warring relationships from the beginning, but here in this study I suggested that the warring situation between Koguryo and Paekche urged Shilla to join hands with the stronger Koguryo, which resulted in the Wae's frequent attack on Shilla.
