The purpose of this paper is to identify the relationship among village, village grove and prospected landscape. For this, the research was centered on Jinan-Eub. Field survey was performed to search village groves which Mt. Mai was prospected and take a picture of prospected Mt. Mai at each village grove. View distance and angle of elevation were measured by 1/25,000 map and reviewed in comparative with previous research results. Furthermore. general and socio-behavioral characteristics were analyzed and cor-relation between factors was analyzed.
The results are as follows.
1. Considerately many villages in comparative with other local region were remained in Jinan-Eub around Mt. Mai.
2. Village number which Mt. Mai was prospected were 23. And village groves were remained in 47.8%, 11 villages of 23 villages.
3. The location of the village groves was deep relation with prospection of Mt. Mai.
4. Average view distance between the top of Mt. Mai and village grove was 2.5㎞. That was the distance which texture and topography were prospected at the same time.
5. It was identified that Mt. Mai was selected as a front landscape of village.
6. Angle of elevation was 6-14° and average of that was 8.2°. It was identified that village groves were made at the place of having the best prospect angle of elevation.
7. Village groves were not only element of Edge as a means of establishing territoriality, but also were community space considering prospection of Mt. Mai.
8. It was identified that formal relationship among village, village grove and prospected landscape was the structure of getting territoriality and being connected with prospected landscape.
9. The cause of upper results could be searched in passive life of enclosed space in agricultural society. But village groves had been destructed and injured on account of civilian belief, territoriality and community life being losed by urgent industrialization.
