Many countries have been much concerned for the digitalization of cadastral map and information, and expedited its pilot projects. In early 1900s, the first graphic cadastral map was drawn up with the purpose of fare levying on land tax. And then graphic cadastral map has made practical application to many fields as a base map.
But recently, as the information society has come, the better cadastral services and reestablishment of cadastral system (especially cadastral maps) are required. The digitalization of cadastral map is the only and most important solution for these needs. The digitalization of cadastral system can improve the accuracy of boundary survey, protect land ownership more reliably and provide a base map for computerized land and urban information.
The existing studies on the digitalization of graphic cadastral map have been made slow progress. But the more accumulation of studies on that is indispensable for the modernization of cadastral survey. Therefore, this study aims to seek for the most appropriate way of the digitalization of graphic cadastral map in our land, and to contribute to the national digitalization of cadastral map and the construction of the national geographic information system.
