This Study will focus on the catchment forces of urban community parks, and deal with gravity model followed by discussions on theoretical issues of the catchment forces of urban community parks, reviewed Jakobsson’s CBS theory, Gambini, R,, Huff, B.I, and Jenks, G.F(1967), Reilly's Law(1931), Tuominen’s Theory(1949) and the Theory of Centrality(1975).
The paper will present three hypotheses. First hypothesis is concerned with a gravity model for the catchment forces of urban community parks. Second hypothsis is an equilibrium point model between two urban community parks. Third hipothesis is a probability model of using an urban community parks, treated with outdoor recreational facilities. The three models are really testified in case of collected parks of Chongju.
The paper will combine a set of theoretical and practical analyses with the testimonies, and draw some major conclusions from the results with locational determinant factors for planning urban community parks.
