The purpose of this study was to get preeminent data from comparative analysis of multi-family housing building types between Korea and China nowadays. Even though Korea and China belong to common cultured band in Asia, there were many different Housing aspects and building types because of difference of lifestyle and the building law. Through this study we wanted to grasp the characteristics of both nation's apartment building types and to contribute for advance into the China apartment market.
Analysis target was constructing and lotting out apartment at South Korea and China, from 2004 to 2005. First, they were analyzed the number of each building types, compared the proportion of each one. next, it was divided into some kinds of interior circulation system. Also, they were compared with each nation's number of plan and plan types.
Through these analysis we knew that next differences of South Korean and Chinese apartment. 1)There were many number of slab block type in Korean apartment. But in China, mixed block type apartment came out frequently. 2)Chinese apartment had more number of unit plan that was combined in one core than Korean. 3)Chines apartment Unit plan type was came out more various than Korean. 4)The shape of Chinese apartment building block was long by horizontally than vertically and has many prominence and depression.
