This study aims to develop a detachable 'Infill Components' applicable to SkeletonㆍInfill Housing. The skeletons recently being built in Korea shows a tendency of transition from united wall structures to so-called Ramen structures which have flat beams allowing a longer-span. Unfortunately, however, there seems to be an obvious lack of the industrial efforts to develop an appropriate infill system to cope with the transition by increasing the capacity of building components to be more 'flexible'. Some of the industrial entities claim to develop such flexible multi-family housing but most of them are still based on the united or fixed type structures. By reviewing the status and problems of currently prevailing light-weight partition wall system and by showing a direction of easy assembly and detachability, this research provides the fundamentals for developing a movable partition wall acceptable to the end-users who sometimes try to remodel the interior to meet the needs of themselves. Three prototypes were developed from the analysis of current partitions and installed to the KICT's experimental open housing; 1) type 1 is a system which has adjustable blots on top and at the bottom of each panel, 2) type 2 is equipped with mechanical jacks operated by handles instead of the adjustable bolts, and 3) type 3 uses adjustable bolts and utilizes dual locks installed to the floor and ceiling runners to fix the panel. These three types are all found to provide easier interfaces for assembly and detachment at work site. Further researches are expected to develop better methods of fixing walls and floors/ceilings, and to increase the performance and the quality of finishes of the panel.
