The purpose of this study is to suggest what should be considered when insulation and airtightness of an external unit room are planed. For this, problems, when the insulation and airtightness of an external unit room are planed, have been solved through the analysis in regard of the example resulted in thermal comfort reduction of occupants because of reduction of insulation and airtightness of an external unit room and then the alternatives have suggested. What should be considered, derived from an analyzed result, are as follows; First, the plan for insulation and airtightness has to be done, regarding an external unit room as the space which should be always open for operation of an external unit room with the same condition of external air. Second, it is concluded that sound-absorbing materials which are applied to reduce the noise according to an external unit room operation should be applied, with being considerd as distinct materials from insulation materials. Third, this study shows that an adjacent room, when its heating capacity is estimated, is regarded as the area adjacent to an external air so that sufficient heating capacity should be provided.
