The use of glass is not restricted to the application as a glazing material, but extended to load bearing members such as a beam or column. There exists very little information about the structural behavior of glass and is the lack of standards and codes for this kind of structural application. This study deals with the four point bending tests on a full-scale glass beam. The results will be helpful to establish a basic design concept of laminated glass beam. The specimens were made with the laminated glass consisted of 2 or 3 tempered glass with thickness of 10㎜, depth of 300㎜ and the pure span of 3500㎜. Two types of end support systems found out from a case study and simple support system are tested. The results of tests have shown that the bending strength was 67～93㎫ and did not reach the material characteristic strength under bending because of a lateral torsional buckling. Accordingly, the influence of support system could not investigated. But it is discovered that the value of critical moment is influenced by the chemical bonding behavior of PVB interlayer and the laminated glass beam acts intermediately between the monolithic behavior and the layered behavior. To prove this fact, the theoretical analysis and FE analysis was carried. The two results of analyses showed good agreement.
