This study analyzed forms and standards of Ceremonial Dresses expressed in 『Okso-go』.
Gwon Seop's picture of Eui and Shang, which follows standards regulated by U-Am Song Shi-Yeol, is as follows:
In 『Okso-Go』, there are pictures on the front and the rear of Ceremonial Dress, with materials, colors and standards. In the picture, there are materials, colors and standards of Shang of ancient status and Song Shi-Yeol's regulations. Therefore, it is possible to know the meaning of Ceremonial Dress and the changing process of Shang concretely, by actual production of Ceremonial Dress, rather than abstract research.
Therefore, through research on Ceremonial Dress inserted in 『Okso-go』, this treatise became the first to identify new composition of Ceremonial Dresses among materials related to clothes in which Yangban's colletions of works. This treatise will give you an opportunity to know what is the meaning of clothes in obeying propriety.
